2023: The Year of the Porg

Now that we had Puzzlepalooza 12 out of the way in 2022, we could get on with...Puzzlepalooza 11? Good thing Star Wars stuff is out of order anyway. So back with puzzling we go, with teams trying to defeat the Imperial Puzzle Lords and their nefarious plot to take over the Puzzle Galaxy.

Sixteen teams compeated for the sweat, sweat prize of Puzzlepalooza Champion, and winner winner was The Fourth Awakens, who took home not only the overall victory, but also the Iron Puzzler prize. Congratulations to Raunak Banerjee, Maya Britto, Joseph Brodsky, Savannah Brown, Angelina Cao, Abjini Chattopadhyay, Bradley Guo, Elina Lee, Margaret Nkafu, Joshua Piety, Nathan Poje, Isabelle Rivera, Nathan Shan, Sophia Sun, Colby Trenor, and Jason Weng!

As with other years, the Puzzle Lords would like to share some puzzles from the year's crop, so here is one that is easy-side of medium, and one that is harder (this one must be printed out 2-sided so you can cut out the squares in the attached PDF)...

The final scores? Here they are:

Of course, winning is nice, but there are groups more interested in Puzzlepalooza's Coveted Spirit Award. So congratulations to this year's winner, Foilers.

And to finish up the major awards, the Puzzle Lords would like to bestow a good luck next time to the First Losers, a title this year bestowed upon Jar Jar Thinks.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Puzzle Lords want to thank all the volunteers and alumni who came out ot help make this year's Puzzlepalooza a success. Thank you!

And remember, Puzzlepalooza 2024 is only seconds away!
